Take Action to Help Prevent the Negative Impacts of Data Centers From Destroying Our Quality of Life Here in Perry County, Pennsylvania
Data Centers in Perry County, PA threaten our quality of life. Their heavy and unsustainable use of our resources means that as residents or businesses we can’t coexist with them. They will use up all of our drinking water and they will pollute our rivers and groundwater. They create unlivable levels of constant noise that creates problems for people and animals, both livestock and the deer we hunt. They also use massive amounts of energy which raises our electric costs and leads to generator usage that pollutes our air. There is not much regulation of these Data Centers coming from the state, which makes the first line of defense for communities our local municipal zoning ordinances. Communities and Townships in Perry County, PA must create appropriate zoning ordinances focused on Data Centers if they want to be able to control and regulate how these Data Centers impact our lives, homes and businesses. We have created a repository of links to Model Ordinances which municipalities an use to create their own zoning ordinances. We also have links to Pennsylvania representatives that you can contact. Please see our sections that list upcoming township meetings and events where community support is needed.
